Job Title:  Lumber Yard Foreman Location:  Eureka, MT Western Building Center in Eureka is seeking a leader who is responsible for the supervision and coordination of yard personnel activities engaged in loading, unloading, storing, transferring, and distributing lumber and various other building materials. This full-time lumber yard foreman position will give you the opportunity to hone your leadership skills and your knowledge of the lumber and building material business while providing our customers with the best customer available.  Applicants will need to have a thorough understanding of delivery dispatch and logistics. Lumberyard experience is a must.   Job Requirements: 
  • Supervise all yard operations for safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Responsible for loading, unloading and movement of material on the premises utilizing material handling equipment and machinery; oversees receiving of yard materials. 
  • Inspects loading operations for outgoing delivery to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, load limits and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of current and future inventory.  
  • Ensures that outside areas are kept neat, clean, and yard debris is appropriately recycled of or disposed of.
  • Comply and enforce all OSHA rules, company Safety Standards, and local policies/procedures to provide a safe working environment.  Must recognize unsafe conditions and behaviors and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.

You will be helping maintain the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment of the manufacturing plant to acceptable operating standards. As well as having excellent problem-solving skills and deep understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics are crucial to this role. This role also requires physical stamina and strength, as you’ll have to stand for long hours and occasionally carry heavy loads.
