Western Building Center’s Building Components Division is seeking an experienced Mitek component designer. This full-time design position will give you the opportunity to excel in a fast-paced environment. A successful applicant will be able to hone their knowledge of the building components trade while working out of the weather in a controlled office environment. Architectural design or CAD experience is preferred but not required. Applicant must be familiar with general computer operating systems. Training will be provided. Performs estimating and takeoff services using ability to understand blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects; orders taken by component technical staff form the basis for component production planning. 2. Computes square foot materials needed to be priced by sales staff; determines whether standard designed components or customer designed components are most appropriate for customer’s needs. 3. Assists sales staff on technical aspects of customer inquiries and consults with experienced component technicians or engineering staff when more in-depth analysis is required. 4. Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals. 5. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. 6. This full-time lumberyard assistant/delivery driver position will give you the opportunity to hone your knowledge of the lumber business while providing our customers with the best customer service in the state!  A clean driving record is a must. Applicants should be able to lift 80 pounds.

PURPOSE

Perform duties pertaining to lumberyard maintenance and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and organize inventory in lumberyard and associated warehouse
  • Assist customers with loading building materials in all weather conditions
  • Unload freight from vendors and distributors
  • Plan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals
  • Maintain logs of equipment repair status
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
